Owner and winemaker John Rivenburgh has a passion to bring the highest quality handcrafted wines to Texas.
John began this quest focusing on farming, but after being told he had a knack for wine and a great palate, he
focused on fine tuning his winemaking skills along with his love for grape growing. John’s wines have received
recognition and have won medals in Texas and on a national level, stumping the critics and California wine
industry.

DRINK TEXAS, TEXAS!
Desert Door Distillery is located in Driftwood, TX. on the eastern edge of wild Sotol Country. While it’s not an agave spirit, our Sotol is a lot like a premium tequila on the nose, with bright notes of vanilla and green grass. Our Tasting Room offers a cozy setting to enjoy signature cocktails, live music, and one-of-a-kind spirits. Go behind the scenes on a tour where we’ll walk you through our whole process, from wild-harvesting, to cooking, to aging and bottling. At the end of the tour, you can relax in our tasting room. Order a Desert Door cocktail and enjoy it with a whole new appreciation for what goes into making original Texas Sotol
