Get ready to spice up your Christmas traditions because we’re about to share the ultimate holiday magic: our Book Advent !
These books are our family’s favorites during this time of year. I place them under the Christmas tree in the living room so the kids can choose a book each day to read. You can get even more festive and individually wrap each book but this year time got away from me and that didn’t happen.
I am a retired Elementary Teacher and during the month of December every grade would learn about Christmas Around the World or read a different Holiday related book every day and do a fun activity, writing or food recipe to go along with our lesson. It was some of the best lessons I taught.

I have put a few fun activity ideas for the whole family to do that go along with some of the books. Pinterest for the win! Another great website for fun (sometimes free things is TPT- Teachers Pay Teachers. It is a website where teachers create fun, themed activities and make extra money). I used TPT all the time when I was teaching and I still use it today for activities at home, especially since we started homeschooling. If you are looking for something fun over the Holiday break to keep the kiddos busy these are great things to do together.
